The ceremony was organized by the Indonesia branch of the Dar-ol-Quran Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, Qaaf news agency reported.
Muhammad Baqir al-Mansouri, head of the branch, said the families of the Quran memorizers and a number of guests, including Sheikh Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, director of Jakarta Islamic Cultural Center and Seyed Hussein Shihab, director of Khatam Nabiyin Seminary of Indonesia, attended the ceremony.
Thirty-five boys and girls who have learned one to 12 Juzes (parts) of the Quran by heart were honored at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sheikh Hakim Elahi praised the branch of the Dar-ol-Quran center for its role in promoting Quranic activities in Indonesia.
The branch, which was launched in Jakarta three years ago, has organized various Quranic programs and activities since.
More than 200 Indonesian boys and girls have memorized the Quran by attending the courses organized by the branch.
